Industrial Designer, September 2016 - Present

- Led designs in client projects.

- Work closely with a team of product managers, industrial designers and mechanical engineers to solve problems and deliver product designs to clients.

- Heavily involved in early phases of design, which includes ideation, patent search, mind mapping, product mapping, conceptual sketches, marker renderings, digital sketch renders and CAD work.

- Create presentations for clients in lead client meetings.

- Occasionally support the design team in DFM phase. 

 

Dango Products, LLC. - Palo Alto, CA

Founder, Chief Industrial Designer and Creative Director, October 2015 - Present

- Created and took the Loop Hook and Wall Mount from idea to market through a successfully crowdfunded Kickstarter campaign.

- Co-founded Dango Products (LLC.) and named Chief Designer and Creative Director.

- Provide tech packs with instructional presentations that includes 2D drawings and CMF  for both domestic and off-shore manufacturers.

- Closely involved with art direction of photography, videography, print, web contents and ads for marketing materials. 

- Manage brand identity and approve all high-level decisions on the creative department.

- Manage social media accounts such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

- Involved in all business decisions including B2B, sales, marketing, financial and accounting concerns.

- Led design in several client projects including Focus Product Design's internal projects.

- Involved in bringing Focus Product Design's Tavin Wine Preserver to crowdfunding. 

- Worked closely with a team of product managers, industrial designers, mechanical engineers and electrical engineers to solve problems and successfully deliver product designs to clients.

- Heavily involved in early phases of design, which includes ideation, patent search, mind mapping, product mapping, conceptual sketches, marker renderings, digital sketch renders and preliminary CAD work.

Element Case Inc. - San Carlos, CA

Lead Industrial Designer, May 2012 - September 2015

- Wore many hats during a transitional start-up phase of Elmenet Case Inc. 

- Designing at Element Case Inc. involved creating cases for several mobile devices, such as Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Sony Xperia and more. Element Case's products consists of cases and accessories that are made from unique CNC machined elements along with rugged plastic parts and soft-goods.

- Worked closely with the creative director and CEO to lead aesthetic and functional design for Element Case's product lines.

- Involved in product ideation and conceptualizng through sketching and 3-D CAD.

- Developed product CMF (Colors, materials and finishes). This included gathering and selecting a range of materials such as fabrics, leathers, plastic textures, metal finishing and Pantone colors.

- Worked closely with mechanical engineers to design for manufacturing (DFM). This included solving production, mechanical and quality issues. 

- Project managed several early Element Case products from all design phases to manufacturing. This included traveling to Shenzhen, China to overlook production and solve design/engineering issues.

- Communicated with both Chinese and American vendors through manufacturing stages of certain products. 

- Worked with marketing and graphics team to strategize company branding and merchandising. Provided the marketing team with photo-realistic renders of all product lines for web, sales and advertising purposes. 

- Managed with in-house production line and operation team when needed.

 

Leap Design - San Rafael, CA

Contract Industrial Designer, November 2014 - December 2014

- Sub Contracted under founder and Sr. Industrial Designer to conceptualize aesthetic and functional details of a medical product. 

-  Made sketches, presentation drawings, 3D CAD models and photo-realistic renders for conceptual products. 

- Balanced aesthetics and function with manufacturing processes. 

 

Robo 3D - San Diego, CA

Contract Industrial Designer, March 2014 - November 2014

- Worked remotely with Robo 3D's engineering staff to develop the R2; successor of Robo 3D's flagship R1, 3D printing machine. 

- Managed the aesthetic design phases of the R2. This included presenting demographic and market research. 

- Conceptualized through sketches and 3D CAD of the R2's overall look and detailed hardware functions such as hinges, connections and clasps.

- Made presentations of each design phase to show concepts and thoroughly communicate changes and modification. 

- Consulted with color, material and texture choices during development phase. 

 

Phil Wood & Co. - San Jose, CA

Contract internship, January 2011 - February 2011

- Conceptualized and developed innovative bicycle components for custom applications.

- Collaborated with Phil Work's mechanical engineer team for product viability, mechanical refinements and manufacturing concerns and limitations.

- Made presentation sketches and 3D CAD models for producing test prototypes.

- Collaborated with other interns to conceptualize aesthetic and functional solutions for product designs.

Restoration Hardware - San Jose, CA

Sales Associate, July 2010 - September 2011

- Satisfied daily and weekly sales goals by selling Restoration Hardware's high-end, eclectic styled furniture. Restoration Hardware's products are a mixture of rustic, classical and modern styles which included both indoor and outdoor furniture, housewares and decorative accessories. 

 - Helped customers find the right solutions for their home and office space through the quality, comfort, ergonomics and style. This included applying interior design methods to help customers make the right decisions.

- Acquired knowledge of the furniture to be familiarized with manufacturing process of each style and item. This translated to educating customers about Restoration Hardware's unique products. 

- Organized delivery and assembly schedules for both in-store and web orders.

- Employed during a transitional phase when Restoration Hardware was going through a complete corporate re-brand. This included a shift in the company's core-values, attitude, product lines and retail presentation.
